Barber Shop Case Study

Intro

We worked with a barber shop in Dallas, Texas that wanted to strengthen its local online visibility. Before our involvement, their Google Business Profile wasn’t driving as much activity as it could. The shop had loyal in-person clients, but online searches — especially those from new customers looking for nearby services — were not converting into calls, website clicks, or appointments.

Starting Numbers

When we began tracking in February 2025, the numbers showed a modest level of activity. The business received:

  • 268 calls
  • 40 website clicks
  • 484 interactions total

These numbers told us that the barber shop had some digital presence, but it was limited. People searching “near me” services in the area were not yet finding this business at the rate they could.

Goals

Our goal was to grow calls, website clicks, and total interactions steadily over the next several months. Short-term, we wanted at least double-digit monthly increases. Long-term, we aimed for a few hundred percent growth by the end of the first year. High-value searches such as “barber near me,” “haircut in Dallas,” and other high-ticket grooming services were targeted. Building authority with local, service-focused content was central to achieving these goals.

Business Profile Calls

Mar 2025421+57%+57%
Apr 2025650+54%+142%
May 2025947+46%+253%
Jun 20251,462+54%+445%
Jul 20252,079+42%+676%

Calls are one of the strongest signals of customer intent. In February, only 268 people called directly through the business listing. By July, this number had climbed to 2,079 — a more than sixfold increase. The biggest jumps occurred in months four through six, as new locally relevant content helped the shop appear in more Dallas-area searches.

Website Clicks

Mar 202561+53%+53%

May 2025118+37%+195%
Jun 2025157+33%+293%
Jul 2025189+20%+373%

Website clicks represent customers who want to learn more before booking. Growth here was steadier but still dramatic. By July, clicks had nearly quadrupled compared to February. These increases came from adding new service-focused landing pages, optimizing for terms like “fade haircut Dallas,” and regularly refreshing the content with trending barber-related topics.

Overall Interactions

Mar 2025762+57%+57%
Apr 20251,220+60%+152%
May 20251,851+52%+282%
Jun 20252,787+51%+476%
Jul 20253,371+21%+596%

Overall interactions combine calls, clicks, and other profile actions. This category showed the strongest and most consistent growth. From 484 in February to 3,371 in July, the barber shop achieved almost a 600 percent increase. The largest spikes occurred in months three through five, when more content and local optimizations were added.

Why This Works

By adding new locally relevant content each month, targeting nearby Dallas neighborhoods, and weaving in commentary on trending styles and topics, we signaled to Google that this barber shop is a trusted local authority. Search engines reward businesses that stay active and useful to their communities, which explains the sharp increases.

Overall Impact Summary

Across all categories, the Dallas barber shop saw impressive growth from February to July:

  • Calls increased by 676 percent.
  • Website clicks grew by 373 percent.
  • Overall interactions rose by 596 percent.

This growth translated directly into more appointments and new customers walking through the door.

Projections

Looking ahead, if the growth continues but at a more moderated pace, we project:

  • Month 9 (Sep 2025):
    • Calls: ~2,740
    • Website clicks: ~228
    • Interactions: ~4,210
  • Month 12 (Dec 2025):
    • Calls: ~3,380
    • Website clicks: ~266
    • Interactions: ~4,890

These projections assume growth will slow slightly toward the 10- to 12-month range, as often happens once the most significant optimization gains are achieved.

Closing Summary

This case study shows how consistent local content updates and strategic targeting can transform a barber shop’s online visibility. The Dallas shop went from being modestly visible online to becoming one of the most prominent results for haircut and grooming searches in the area. Calls, website visits, and overall engagement all grew substantially, creating a measurable impact on the business.
